I spent alot of time in the early eighties being driven around in one of these, the smell of diesel fuel and exhaust still brings back vivid memories. You have to live being dropped out the back of an LHA in one of these at zero dark thirty in the morning, into a rough sea to do field exercises on a cold goat infested strip of beach in the meditteranean to understand.
