My first shipboard experience as a marine, I will never forget my first Atlantic storm in her, enroute to the Meditteranean. She was a flat bottomed boat, so in rough seas we were literally walking on the walls. After we pulled into port I had my first bout of ‘land sickness’, the opposite of motion sickness: you get dizzy because the floor isn’t moving.
