el-yunque-pr-waterfall.jpg

Rained off and on for the whole time I was there (well, it’s a rainforest, so go figure) but in between downpours I found this waterfall—and promptly stripped and jumped in. The feel of that torrent of water beating my back was unbelievable. The water was freezing cold and I felt like I was being  pounded by a solid, elemental force. I was literally revivified, like my batteries had been replaced, not just recharged. Combined with the beautiful flora and subtle herbaceous and spicy scents wafted on the breeze, I was gifted with a memory to last the rest of my life.
